The course “The essence and development of the theory of nursing care” is organized for teachers of nursing in universities and doctoral students of nursing science with the participation of Astana Medical University, Karaganda Medical University, Kazakh National Medical University named after S. Asfendiyarov, Nazarbayev University School of Medicine and South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
Date: June 21-23 and September 20-21, 2021.
The aim of the course is to learn to understand and critically evaluate modern theories of nursing and patient care, to teach theories to nursing students, and to apply modern theories of nursing in a variety of clinical fields.
Training focuses on:
• development of the modern nursing and caring theories (the different paradigms);
• different types of theories (grand, middle-range, and practical-oriented theories);
• critical evaluation of theories;
• pedagogy of teaching nursing and caring theories to PhD nursing science students;
• implementation of theories in clinical nursing practice and healthcare.
This course gives you 10 ECTS (The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) which is equivalent 250-300 hours of participant’s work (reading course literature, writing pre-assignment, participating all the five course days, writing course assignments) and when accomplished, an AccelEd project certificate.
Experts on this course are nursing scientists and senior researchers from three European universities (Åbo Akademi University and JAMK University of Applied Sciences from Finland, and Lithuanian University from Lithuania).
