The training course “The substance and theory development of nursing-caring” has been successfully completed

The training course “The substance and theory development of nursing-caring” organized by Åbo Akademi University in Finland and Astana Medical University in Kazakhstan has been successfully completed!

The participants were altogether 26 PhD and Master´s students in nursing science and university teachers in nursing science from seven universities at Kazakhstan.

On a self-assessment scale from 0 to 10 the participants evaluated at the end of the first part of the course their knowledge about nursing and caring theories as good (mean 6.8 varying from 5 to 9.

Here some participants´ reflections about what they knew about theories after the first part of the course:

    – I need to read more about theories, but during these 3 days I got huge and deep understanding of the influence of theories in research, education and practice.

    – I learned range of theories/models used in nursing science, education and clinical practice, how to teach the theories, and how to evaluate the nursing theories used in research studies, etc. The importance of theories is definitely high without any doubt as I can see after these days! My perspective to the nursing science is changed I might declare.

    – Many thanks to everyone for these three days! I hope that I will achieve the goal of the course, over the summer I will study in depth the theory of nursing and will be able to use this knowledge in my work. Thank you for the opportunity to be here!

The second part of the course with focus on participants´ essays on nursing and caring theories and their significance is arranged for September 20-21, 2021 (online).
