From December 6 to 10, 2021, the Karaganda Medical University held a Master class “Service-design approach in the development of nursing services”. The Master Class is part of the AccelEd project (“Accelerating Master and PhD Level Nursing Education Development in the Higher Education System in Kazakhstan”), which is co-funded by the EU through the Erasmus+, which implements innovative projects to increase capacity and reform higher education.
The aim of the Master Class is to enhance participants´ knowledge and skills to create and organize the processes, ways of working, methods and interaction that produce innovations and collaboration among different partners.
Acting Board Chairman-Rector, Vice-rector for Strategic Development and Science, Karaganda Medical University Turmukhambetova Anar Akylbekovna and Senior Advisor, PhD (Nursing science), JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland Johanna Heikkilä solemnly opened the master class with a greeting.
As part of the master class, the participants learned the service design method, and also learned how to apply this method in practice using examples and tools. To collect data and work with users of services, that is, patients, work was carried out at Institute of Public Health and Professional Health of “KMU” NCJSC and the Clinic of the Medical University of NCJSC “KMU”. The master class was attended not only by teachers of nursing, but also by representatives of nursing, as well as graduate and doctoral students of medical universities in Kazakhstan.
